Sicily (Selinunte) – Italy

Located by the Mediterranean coast of Sicily, Marinella di Selinunte is a hamlet of Castelvetrano, a municipality in the Province of Trapani. The village was founded at the end of the 19th century and grew, due to its position by the coast, during the second half of the 20th century. Today it is a tourist and seaside resort.

It is located near the archaeological area of Selinunte, a rich and extensive ancient Greek city of Magna Graecia funded in the seventh century BC. The stunning remains of the temples and of the ancient city represent the main attraction of the area, which is famous for the production of olive oil and ancient wheats.

A few steps away from the Archaeological Park, the Nature Reserve of Foce del Fiume Belice offers a unique natural environment characterized by many dunes and beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see.
