Multiplier Event of the QUEST project took place at the University of Nicosia. It’s been a day full of interesting discussions and innovative ideas! ✨
The Mayor of the Municipality, Mr. Charalambos Prountzos, welcomed the participants and expressed the municipality’s dedication to fostering cooperation between academia and the tourism industry, a crucial collaboration for the city’s growth and prosperity. Afterwards, Mr. Antonio Barone, Director of the Phoenicians’ Route – Cultural Route of the Council of Europe partner of the project, presented the award that the Phoenicians’ Route has received for the Best Practice in Cultural and Educational Exchange for Young Europeans for the implementation of QUEST’s activities. Mr. Vakis Loizides, Senior Tourism Officer, Deputy Ministry of Tourism, and Mr. Neophytos Timinis, General Secretary, Cyprus Hotels & Catering, Establishment Employees, Trade Union P.E.O, also participated in the event and discussion on the themes of Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Tourism. Mrs. Ksenija Keča, QUEST Project Coordinator at Libertas University, showed the project’s goals and achievements.
The day was also packed with engaging workshops and thought-provoking panel discussions: Mr. George Panayiotou, Employment Placement Coordinator of Hospitality and Tourism programs at the University of Nicosia, delved into “The Elements of Quality Internships”, while Mr. Constantinos Moniatis, Human Resources Manager, Four Seasons Hotel addressed the topic of “Bridging the Gap between Industry & Academia”. Subsequently, a lively final debate was moderated by Mrs. Yianna Orphanidou, Coordinator of the BBA Hospitality Program at the University of Nicosia and sparked a dynamic exchange of ideas among participants. Finally, Ms. Jelena Stupalo, Director of the Solin Tourism Board and project partner, took the floor to present “Split Dalmatia County including Soli”.
As a perfect end to the day, attendees had the unique opportunity to explore the charming, world-famous Lace-Making Village, strolling through its cobbled lanes and experiencing its rich heritage firsthand.
